Epsom salt

Used in: bath salts

Epsom salt is a naturally occurring mineral salt, made up of magnesium, sulphur, and oxygen, and chemically termed magnesium sulphate. Epsom salts have a long history of use in traditional medicine: users typically dissolve Epsom salt in a bath and soak in the water to relax muscles and relieve stress. Salt bathes are also widely used as a treatment for eczema, psoriasis, acne, and other skin conditions. These benefits are due to the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of salt.
